Gill Creek Green Infrastructure Solutions Project

Address point and non-point source runoff and pollution entering the creek from the public golf course and two outfalls that flow into Gill Creek. The goal of the project is to improve water quality and reduce the frequency of harmful algal blooms (HABs) in Hyde Park Lake, along Gill Creek. Green infrastructure practices that will be implemented through this project include: daylighting a stormwater pipe and creating a meandering surface channel with micro pools and native plants; rerouting stormwater from a pipe through constructed wetlands before it reaches Gill Creek; and, creating a pit and mound complex
